Tragedy for crash driver

The driver killed in a head-on crash between a car and ambulance near Cambridge had lost his mother two years ago after she was stabbed and set on fire by a mentally unwell man. Aucklander Deon Hadley, 33, died at the scene of Wednesday’s crash, and a critically injured ambulance officer died in Waikato Hospital that afternoon. Hadley’s mother was killed by her boarder, Damien Chandler, who was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.
