Ahoy, me hearties

Morris West, complete with blue beard, gets into the spirit of International Talk Like a Pirate Day in New Plymouth yesterday. The occasion is marked around the world on September 19, and in New Plymouth it has been commemorated by an annual Pirate Pubcrawl since 2005. West said the focus of the event was camaraderie, not alcohol consumption. Adorned with sash belts, long sleeved white puffy shirts, eye-patches and fake pirate bling, the buccaneers stopped at seven pubs.
