Anamoe gives Kiwi jockey armchair ride

Anamoe’s graduation to a modern-day Australian turf great was confirmed in the $5.4m Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley yesterday. Ridden by expat-Kiwi jockey James McDonald, Anamoe delivered for world racing superpower Godolphin and its Australian trainer James Cummings. In making it seven wins at racing’s highest G1 level, Anamoe raced handy and powered clear, the win ensuring Cummings emulated his famous grandfather Bart as a Cox Plate-winning trainer.
