Green’s suicide blamed on CTE brain condition
The widow of former NRL player and Cowboys title-winning coach Paul Green says he was living with a ‘‘severe’’ and undiagnosed case of chronic traumatic encephalopathy before his death at 49 by suicide. Amanda Green said yesterday that a post-mortem analysis of her late husband’s brain had revealed signs of CTE, a brain condition caused by repeated head trauma. He played 162 NRL matches.
