All My Friends Hate Me

(Wednesday, Online Rentals) A heady cocktail of Peter’s Friends, The Ritual and Happy New Year, Colin Burstead, this pitch-black 2021 British comedy details the increasing nightmare endured by charity worker Pete (Tom Stourton, who also co-wrote the script), as he reunites with his old university pals for a birthday weekend. Seemingly offending each one in turn, he gets progressively paranoid that he’s being undermined by a local interloper (Dustin Demri-Burns), who the group has apparently invited along as a joke.

The Mandalorian

(Wednesday, Disney+) After a seemingly interminable wait, Pedro Pascal’s masked bounty hunter is back for a third, eight-part season of this mega-popular Star Wars Universe TV series. As the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history, Din Djarin and his pintsized companion Grogu will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies. Back to the Future’s Christopher Lloyd is among those joining in on the fun.

Daisy Jones and The Six

(Friday, Prime Video) Riley Keough, Sam Claflin and Timothy Olyphant are part of the impressive ensemble assembled for this 10-part musicaldrama based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 bestselling novel. In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers (Keough and Claflin), they had risen from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out show, they called it quits. Decades later, the band members have finally agreed to reveal the truth.
