Restau­ra­teurs of the Year, Cas­sia wins the Smart Din­ing cat­e­gory, and Sid takes out Chef of the Year. It’s fi­nally Si­dart’s turn to shine, but the cou­ple know that iron­i­cally, de­spite hav­ing over­hauled the menu at Si­dart ear­lier in the year to fo­cus on us­ing al­most en­tirely New Zealand-grown ingredients, there’ll now be more change. They can’t coast on the award, they will have to reshuf­fle the of­fer­ing at Si­dart at the peak of its suc­cess, to work around the im­pend­ing new restau­rant baby, which it­self comes with a big legacy: The French Cafe is one of the most con­sis­tently awarded restau­rants in the city.
