WELCOME HOME to Welcome Bay. Tucked into the sunny Bay of Plenty, with easy access to the golden beaches of Mt Maunganui and a quick drive into Tauranga’s CBD, everything is on the doorstep of this location.

And there is nothing short of a spectacular welcoming at 126R Waikite Rd as you drive down the long tree-lined driveway, cross a bridge where there might be a deer drinking from the stream, enter through the automated gates and, as the cherry trees come to an end, the expansive property appears on the horizon in a world of privacy and tranquillity.

The current owners are the second family to have enjoyed everything that the property provides. The architect and previous owners designed the home with a mix of modernism and Frank Lloyd Wright elements, which created a canvas for the current vendors to showcase a mix of both contemporary and antique furniture. And while they have loved every minute of their 10 years at their abode in the bay which was a stunning property to begin with, they also didn’t waste any opportunity to turn it into their dream home.

‘‘For example, our teenage children were avid musicians, and therefore appreciated the opportunity to perform in the soundproof purpose-built recording studio.’’

Over their time at the property, the owners have loved entertaining at their home set with a northerly aspect into its natural environment which gives them amazing views of the Kaimai Ranges, Tauranga City and Mt Maunganui – vistas that can be enjoyed day and night, winter or summer.

‘‘We love having friends and family visit, and even on wintry days, with the expanse of doubleglazed windows, we get the feeling of outdoor living.

‘‘In the summer time the two swimming pools can be enjoyed by young and old alike. The weir pool serves a dual purpose with its visual impact as an infinity pool and also it’s heating ability for the larger pool. It really is a fabulous property to entertain others or just enjoy as a family.’’

A leisurely meander through the gardens, orchard and stream with their grandchildren is also a treasured time for the owners, as well as tinkering in the large workshop.
