push to get into the room it bit me. Did that experience frighten you? No. How did you get involved with the show? I created it and sold it to producers in Canada after shopping it round to a few people. Have you had a favourite location you have been on for filming? Oh man, it’s so difficult, I’ve been so lucky to go to some amazing countries, but the ones that stand out most are Cameroon in Africa, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and probably Zambia. Are you a bit of a wild creature yourself? What’s the wildest thing you have done? How do you define that? I couldn’t tell you that, I’d never work again. There’s been some publicity about you harassing a woman through text messages, do you feel this has tarnished your image? I’m not really interested in what people think about me, especially when you don’t know the true story. In that article there’s nothing of what that girl said about me, all you saw was the stuff that supposedly I’d written. You only saw one side of the story, it’s difficult to have an opinion on anything when you only know one angle. The responsibility I have in the job that I do and the choices I make in my life, I have to come to terms that people are going to judge me. I don’t mind people talking about me that much but if you base truth on tacky magazines then it might not be the best place to go for something that’s real, you know. I don’t live in the past. What are you working on at the moment? I’m based in Stockholm filming a TV show called the 100 Code about how a New York cop comes to Stockholm to try and track down a serial killer. It’s going really well, Stockholm’s beautiful, it’s very clean, the people are lovely. It’s nice to be back in Europe, I’ve been in Los Angeles in the United States for the last 11 or 12 years and I love the States but I’m from Europe. I might go back to Manchester for a month or so and Berlin where I was born and then I’ll go back to the States as there’s a few work things I’m hoping to set up for the early part of 2015. Have you set up home in LA? I don’t have a concept of home as strong as other people but a lot of my stuff is in LA and a lot of my friends are there and I have a car there so there’s a feeling of home there but I’m not really attached to much of a home concept. I don’t think I’m going to stop moving for a while, I’m going to keep travelling. My dad was a teacher and my mum a nurse and when I was growing up they just travelled. What are you planning for in 2015? I want to continue with Wild Things. Making the show was a lot of fun, some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. With Wild Things there’s a real dialogue that opens up where people talk about how they feel different about the natural world.
