Murder plot foiled

-

A former Chicago police officer has been sentenced to an additional 40 years in prison for trying to hire someone to kill the prosecutor who put him behind bars for killing his third wife. During his sentencing hearing yesterday, Drew Peterson said he never wanted Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow killed, and claimed to know all along that a fellow inmate was recording their conversations about the plot. He said he was suicidal at the time and didn’t believe he would live to see the plan come to fruition. Peterson, 62, is serving a 38-year sentence.
