How to make the pennies count

- Jayne Atherton Business Editor

Investments are there to make our work count and our lives better as we get older.

In increasingly uncertain times, it is wise to have a nest egg to fall back on, but unfortunately with rising housing costs, finding money to stash away is hard to do. That’s why it is important to make every penny count and take control of any funds that you can afford to put away.

We at Sunday Business know that our readers want to be armed with information to make informed choices about their money, and if we cannot deliver the answers, at least we can give you the background and details you may need to be able to ask the right questions.

This week in two pages devoted to investment news and comment, we investigate some of the issues surrounding KiwiSaver funds, and there’s also a useful explanation of the effects of inflation on ordinary household budgets from CMC Markets expert, Sheldon Slabbert.

The world of money can be a mysterious one, but we hope that these articles will shine a light for all of us who are trying to build a better and brighter financial future.
