Tail wags and wags

Cricket: Anish Desai and Freddy Walker put on a remarkable unbroken last-wicket partnership for Hamilton in their representative two-day cricket match against Bay of Plenty in Hamilton yesterday. Walker, batting at No 11, smashed 150 not out from only 125 balls and put on an unbeaten 220 for the 10th wicket with Hamilton No 3 Desai, who ended 165 not out as the hosts declared at 409-9. At one stage, Hamilton were 93-6 and while Matt Wallbank made 36 at No 9 to add 45 for the eighth wicket with Desai, it looked like the hosts at Galloway Park would still be dismissed for under 200 batting first. Walker struck 23 fours and a six in his incredible century, while Desai featured 20 boundaries in his 231-ball knock.
