What do you most dislike about your appearance?

-

Sounds cheesy but, honestly, my mum and my sisters – the three of them have been through hell and back and never once complained, just pushed through adversity and showed love. They are strong, sassy, brave, beautiful women! Dad’s pretty bloody ace too!

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

I have too many. If you come to the show you’ll learn about a number of them. Please come, it’s lonely onstage for 70 minutes alone. Ha, ha.

Ever stolen anything?

Only hearts. #Dadjoke. My job requires me to steal and learn from the greats. Thankfully, we can’t get sued in Aotearoa, so for now I’m safe. My biggest crime is being too sassy. I wish I was taller and leaner but I dislike this question more. #sassy.

Which living person do you most despise and why?

Donald J Trump, the J stands for jerk right? Need I say more?

What life lesson would you pass on to your children?

What, I have children, why didn’t anyone tell me?! I’ve learnt in life: ‘‘You are enough, you are so enough, it’s unbelievable how enough you are’’ also laugh, laugh as much and as loud as you can!

What job would you do other than your own and why?

I’d be crazy enough to stay in the same industry but more into the design aspect of it. I also have a secret obsession with the psychology of the minds of serial killers. But that sounds creepy … I’m really nice and I do Cher! – Mike Alexander

Jason Chasland is starring in at Vault, Q Theatre, as part of Auckland Pride Festival 2017, until February 26.
