Highway closure

A large slip caused by ex-Cyclone Cook has closed State Highway 1 south of Kaikoura for at least two days. TThe Inland Rd remained open. A spokeswoman said the slip was north of Rosy Morn, near the location where rocks fell in early January. ’’Several thousand’’ cubic metres of material had fallen in the latest slip.
