Back in 2009 Sony’s PlayStation Home online community for the PS3 was definitely going to be the next big thing. Most definitely. It was gonna be huge. PlayStation users could have a virtual apartment in a virtual town and interact with other users in a variety of town squares, shops and community spaces. It was destined to be massive. At the same time Audi was launching its e-tron brand for EVs, and decided to get in on the guaranteed hugeness of PlayStation Home by releasing an Audi-dedicated space, becoming the first carmaker to do so. It was going to be huge. Except it wasn’t. PlayStation Home never made it out of Beta and was quietly shuttered in 2015…
