Cricket: White Ferns star Rachel Priest hammered 72 in a low-scoring final, leading the Western Storm to the English Women’s Super League Twenty20 cricket title in Brighton. The New Zealand opener smashed three sixes and 10 fours in a 36-ball 72 that set up the Storm for an easy chase, running down the Southern Vipers’ 145-5 with seven wickets and two overs to spare. In doing so she claimed bragging rights over White Ferns skipper Suzie Bates, who scored 21 off 24 balls opening for the Vipers before she was trapped in front by Stafanie Taylor, one of three victims for the West Indies star who claimed 3-28 from her four overs. Wicket-keeper Priest also picked up a stumping off Taylor’s bowling.
