Meech second
In brief
Sailing: Kiwi Sam Meech has moved into second place at the Laser world championships after a disrupted day of racing in Croatia. Only one race was possible on day two as the wind failed to play ball, but Meech made it count by finishing second to continue his strong start to the regatta. The Olympic bronze medallist now has three top-five finishes, including one win, to sit on seven points, four behind Cypriot Pavlos Kontides who has won all three of his races. ‘‘The breeze was actually fantastic by the time we got out, about 10-12 knots, it was just so slow to come,’’ Meech said.
