Spierings’ pay

-

More than $8 million a year for one person doing his job – how obscene is that! If Fonterra thinks that is a fair salary they must be so excessively wealthy they have lost touch with how the other 90 per cent live. Their industry is stuffing nitrates into our rivers, after emptying them of as much water as they want, and voting National, who won’t even support the living wage in case it hurts business.

It is a privilege to live and work here. Fonterra should offer their chief executive $3m total and put the other $4m towards the environment, or create a philanthropic trust. Gareth Morgan is correct when he says New Zealanders are greedy and selfish. No wonder I can’t afford butter anymore.
