Life and beer

I read with dismay two articles on the same page in last Sunday’s paper. The first one was about a million dollars of taxpayer money going to Auckland and Otago universities to research the effects of music on the fermentation of beer.

The second article, right below, was of a woman dying of breast cancer who could possibly be saved or her life lengthened, by a drug named Ibrance which costs $5900 a month. This drug is not publicly funded. We are truly governed by idiots! Doug Moulin, Auckland
