Bogut could make move to sixth NBA club
Basketballer Andrew Bogut might be heading to a sixth club as early as next month once the NBA trade deadline has passed.
The NBA confirmed American newspaper reports of Bogut’s latest career shift, with the 33-year-old expected to sign with a new team after the February 9 (AEDT) deadline.
Released two weeks ago by the Los Angeles Lakers, he has already cleared waivers making him available to sign with a new team.
In 24 games for the Lakers, he averaged 1.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per match.
Bogut, who has played for the Boomers in three Olympic Games, has been with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers before linking with the Lakers.
The 2005 NBA draft’s No.1 pick became a NBA champion with the Warriors in 2015. He has already been linked with a return to the Bucks.
Bogut can provide immediate defensive help for a team looking to make a deep run in the playoffs.
