Killer was tagged

A North Carolina man has been convicted of murder after his electronic ankle monitor placed him at the scene of the shooting. Carico Rodriquez Hayward, 29, was this week sentenced to life imprisonment without parole after a jury found him guilty of murdering Ellis Bradham, 27, in 2016. Haywood was out on probation at the time of the killing, and police discovered that his monitoring bracelet showed he was in the woods where Bradham’s body was later found, on the day Bradham disappeared. ‘‘When confronted with this information, Hayward confessed to the murder,’’ said District Attorney Spencer Merriweather.
