Police resourcing

Your story ‘‘Police: Pay for your own inquiry’’ (February 4) compelled us to write regarding our similar experience.

Our home was burgled last June and by the end of July we came to the conclusion that the police had no intention of investigating. Considerable ‘‘nagging’’ was similarly involved.

In desperation we hired a private investigator who cost us over $13,000. We hope this makes the business owner charged $4000 by his investigator feel a tad better about his outlay.
