Nigel blows whistle

Rugby: Leading rugby referee Nigel Owens has hit out at homophobic comments from Australian boxer Anthony Mundine – questioning what Mundine would do if he had a gay son. Former league star Mundine was reported as saying this week that capital punishment might make people think differently about being homosexual. Gay Welsh referee Owens said on his Twitter account: ‘‘Maybe this clown [Mundine] will have a son one day who will be gay. Will he tie the noose himself?’’
