Volunteers bring cheer to needy at Christmas

-

More than 1100 volunteers in seven centres around the country were hard at work in the small hours yesterday packing boxes of goodies to help Kiwi families in need this Christmas. The Life Community organisation is continuing a tradition which began with fewer than 100 parcels in 2001 and has since fed more than 110,000 families. The need is especially great in Auckland, but growing in Tauranga and Christchurch. Life Community partnered with more than 270 community and government organisations to ensure the donations go to those who really need them. Christmas Box is a Stuff-sponsored event.
