Sunday Star-Times

The initial taste-test

-

Staff at Star-Times offices in Wellington (sorry to the 41 other regional offices) swarmed to the ice cream like bees to po¯ hutukawa honey. Eric Janssen thought there was a hint of jelly-tip to Clouston’s po¯ hutukawa honey ice cream. ‘‘I thought the Anzac biscuit ice cream was delicious, but so sweet, it should come with a free dental plan.’’ Katie Townshend liked the Anzac Crunch best. ‘‘It was really reminiscent of your classic Anzac biscuit flavour, everything you would expect to taste came through. The po¯ hutukawa honey was really refreshing. I’d never tasted po¯ hutukawa before, so that was quite interesting. It’s really hard to choose, they’re both delicious.’’

The vote

The next step is for readers to try, and to vote. Grill Meats Beer and Arcimboldi will stock the ice creams from today for purchase. Then go to stuff.co.nz and vote on our extremely scientific poll to decide the winner, who will be announced in the Sunday StarTimes. Voting will close on Thursday, January 24 at 12pm.
