Michael Cheika’s attempt to create a siege mentality around the Wallabies ahead of today’s crunch match against Wales has seen him widely mocked. Cheika criticised the Fijians for citing winger Reece Hodge, then claimed the suspended player had no knowledge of World Rugby’s crackdown on dangerous tackles and received no training on his technique. Cheika seems to revel in his role as a pantomime villain of the global game, but his neverending list of grievances should ensure every neutral will be supporting the Welsh today.
