One of my daily morning rituals is checking my podcast app for new episodes that have downloaded overnight. Similar to adding shows to your Netflix list or bookmarking websites, if you subscribe or follow a podcast, you will automatically receive the latest episodes to your device.

It sounds simple, but it’s a great way to find new podcasts and binge new series. Recently added to my list is the new Striped: The Story of the White Stripes, which follows the band’s early days.

Host Sean Cannon brings in fans and friends of the band, and episode one features member of Raconteurs, Brendan Benson, who opens up about his first encounter with Jack White.

The podcast release coincides with the band’s 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

Another recent subscription is to the fiction podcast, Passenger List.

This serialised tale revolves around Flight 702, from London to New York, that goes missing midflight over the Atlantic, and tells the story of what could have happened to the passengers and crew.

There’s an overarching mystery across the whole series, and each episode focuses on a different passenger. It’s ripped from the headlines, based on various flights that have disappeared over the past 10 years. Fans of TV show Lost will love it.

Finally, I was delighted to see the return of the hilariously inappropriate and filthy hit podcast Dear Joan and Jericha drop last week.

Starring comedians Vicki Pepperdine and Julia Davis as tactless agony aunts, in each episode they give cringeworthy advice in response to letters sent to them.

It’s satirical and unapologetically vile and I urge you to subscribe.
