Which Legoland is the best to visit?
That depends on what you’re wanting. There are eight Legoland theme parks around the world – in Billund (Denmark), California, Florida, Malaysia, Dubai, Windsor (England), Japan, and Germany – and more are in the works, so you have quite a few to choose from. The parks are meant for children 2-12, but there’s plenty to keep adults and bigger kids happy, too.
As you’d expect, there are similarities between all eight Legoland theme parks, but they’re not all the same. If you’re keen to visit the birthplace of Lego and the original Legoland, you’d choose Legoland Billund. But for Kiwis, it’s not a quick journey. Billund is about 260km west of Copenhagen. Once you get there, though, you’ll find more than 50 rides and enough to keep kids entertained for days. They can take on The Great Devourer with Ninjago the Ride, hop on the Dragon Roller Coaster through King’s Castle and much more – there are even Lego trains to ride.
If you’re looking for the biggest parks, there’s Legoland Windsor (25km outside London), or Legoland Florida (not too far from the Orlando theme parks).
Perhaps the easiest Legoland park for Kiwis is the one in California, which is just an hour south of Disneyland.
