What’s one place you’d take every visitor to New Zealand, and why?

Rotorua. It has so many thrilling and next-level adventure attractions and unique places to experience, savour and treasure. It’s like being a big kid.

Our beautiful Ma¯ ori culture is celebrated there, and the geothermal activity will make you go “wow”.

This place has something for everyone, whether it’s the family, a romantic escape, or a solo traveller. The locals are authentic, down-to-earth and welcoming.

What’s your secret backyard favourite spot?

The 28 pools on the lake’s edge of Rotorua at the Polynesian Spa.

The acidic waters help relieve tired, sore muscles, while the alkaline waters make your skin silky soft.

It nourishes and rejuvenates, and helps you to deeply unwind, relax and feel pampered.

Another favourite spot is Lake Oka¯ reka. The lake is peaceful and, at night time, there are spots where you can see glow-worms in caves if you head out on a paddleboard tour with Paddle Board Rotorua.

What’s your favourite place for a pie/coffee?

The Terrace Kitchen in Tu¯ ta¯ nekai St, in Rotorua, has amazing coffee. The food looks like art and tastes great, too.

This place is always a 10 out of 10. The staff are incredible, always friendly, and I’ve noticed many of them have been there for years.

You always get a smile and next-level service at this eatery.

What’s one New Zealand spot that’s at the top of your bucket list?

Great Barrier Island, of course.
