Cooks air link grounded
New Zealand entrepreneur Mike Pero has grounded his Cook Islands airline plans permanently. Pero confirmed to Stuff that Pasifika Air will not be providing an air link between the Cook Islands, Christchurch and Wellington as originally planned. It is understood there have been too many obstacles. Pero declined to comment further, but in an interview with Cook Islands News he said he found the Cook Islands Government’s lack of enthusiasm ‘‘quite hurtful’’. He had also been involved in advanced discussions to provide services to Samoa and Vanuatu.
