Anatomy of a Scandal (April 15, Netflix)

Sienna Miller, Michelle Dockery, Rupert Friend and Naomi Scott team up for this six-part British crime drama based on the 2018 Sarah Vaughan novel of the same name. The story of a junior government minister accused of a sexual crime, the series is created by Big Little Lies’ David E Kelley and House of Cards writer Melissa James Gibson. ‘‘Incisive, enraging and boasting an excellent ensemble, this timely drama may be made for binge-viewing but it offers plenty of food for thought,’’ wrote Empire magazine’s Jordan King. ‘‘Horror-inflected dream sequences, salacious twists and tantalising cliffhangers recreate the page-turner quality of Vaughan’s book.’’

Outer Range (April 15, Amazon Prime Video)

Josh Brolin headlines this eight-part western with a supernatural twist. The former Thanos plays Royal Abbot, a rancher fighting to keep his land and family together, who discovers a strange anomaly on the edge of his vast Wyoming property. Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor and Will Patton also feature.

Roar (April 15, Apple TV+)

Eight-part anthology series from the creators of wrestling dramedy Glow. Based on the 2018 short story collection of the same name by Cecelia Ahern, each instalment promises to ‘‘shine a spotlight on women’s experiences and how women navigate through other’s perceptions of them, as well as their own’’. These ‘‘darkly comic feminist fables’’ feature A-lister performances from Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo and Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and Meera Syal.
