Online banking is here to stay and ASB is helping older customers learn the ropes.

The way Kiwis do their banking is changing with more and more customers using online banking services. Around 1 in 5 Kiwis are using either ASB FastNet Classic internet banking or the ASB Mobile Banking app every month, and the number of ASB customers getting set-up with online banking is growing every week.

For some, it can be tricky gaining the con dence to tackle online banking, but with ASB’s help they may nd making an online transactio­n even easier than lling out a branch deposit slip. ASB hosts Better Banking Workshops, to help anyone who feels they need a bit of extra support to make the online transition. They’re free and available all over the country.

For senior customers, there is even more help available via ASB’s priority over-65s phone line where friendly sta are available to answer any banking questions. ASB also o ers a series of online how-to guides to step customers through online banking and making payments on the go.

If you’re not a frequent online user then it’s natural to be sceptical about frauds and scams. ASB has invested in cutting-edge technology to detect fraud in real time, and you can help ensure you stay safe online with the handy tips available on ASB’s website.

Online banking can open up a world of convenienc­e. By banking from the comfort and safety of their own homes, many customers discover the ease of paying utility bills or setting up automatic payments for regular outgoings without leaving the house.

Then there’s the fun stu . A grandchild has a birthday coming up? Don’t risk sending cash in a birthday card, simply transfer their birthday money into their (or mum or dad’s) account. Won an online auction? You can pay the seller online too. Fancy a summer holiday but can’t seem to save? You can set up a special savings account and put aside a little each week and watch the holiday fund grow.
