Iranian general slain

A general in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps has been killed in Syria, Iranian news agencies report. General Hassan Shateri is the most senior Iranian military figure to die in unrest. Voice of Lebanon radio reported Fahd alMasri, a spokesman for the rebel Free Syrian Army, as claiming that Shateri had died two weeks ago when Israeli jets hit a convoy.
