Chaos in court
A 23-year-old charged with murder was hauled away by courtroom guards after pandemonium broke out at the Manukau District Court yesterday. Bodi McKee was appearing in court charged with the murder of Leslie Putt who died after he was shot at a Manurewa, south Auckland, property on Saturday morning. McKee, who was handcuffed, became increasingly agitated and tearful in court. The judge denied bail and ordered McKee undergo a psychiatric evaluation. McKee began thrashing about and screaming and swearing, and was tackled by guards. About a dozen people, some cradling infants, swarmed the dock as McKee was taken back to his cell.
