‘Flirtatious’ Bolt partied till 6am: report

-

Track star Usain Bolt has been accused of partying until 6am in the days leading up to his last race at the world championships.

Bolt pulled up lame with pain in his left hamstring in the men’s 4x100m relay final in London on Sunday in his final event before retiring from track and field.

Now, The Sun newspaper has claimed Bolt was drinking rum and cognac until dawn at a wake in the London suburb of Acton last week - just a day after his bronze medal in the 100m.

The newspaper produced a video purporting to show Bolt dancing with girls at a barbecue.

It quoted a partygoer saying: ‘‘He was saying ‘Hi’ to everyone and he was very, very flirtatious.

‘‘I saw him kissing one of the girls. He was there until 6am.’’

The Sun claimed Bolt was seen drinking glasses of cognac and rum.

The party was to celebrate the life of Jamaican-born high jumper Germaine Mason, 34, a silver medallist for Great Britain at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Bolt was a pallbearer at Mason’s funeral after his friend was killed in a motorcycle accident in Jamaica last April.

The 30-year-old Bolt ended his career with eight Olympic Games gold medals and 14 world championship medals - including 11 golds.

Bolt partied in a Rio nightclub after his medal winning feats at the 2016 Olympics and carried on the celebrations later in London.
