Our God recognises that his ‘‘children’’ are at different stages of development in their Christian life. For those younger in their faith living peaceably with their neighbour may not be possible, especially when the neighbour constantly provokes them. Nevertheless they remain God’s beloved and he, as the Righteous Judge, asks that vengeance and wrath be left to him.
