Emergency services Car hits pole, power cut

More than 900 properties in North Taranaki lost power after a car crashed into a power pole yesterday. Emergency services were called to the scene on Mouatt St, Waitara, where wires came down over the vehicle at 9.37am, a spokesperson said. Two people had been in the car. Powerco’s website said 903 properties were affected by the power cut. Power has since been restored.
