Kohli in Bollywood wife’s shadow

If you thought Virat Kohli was a big name, try his Bollywood superstar wife.

Anushka Sharma is her name, and she's in New Zealand to support Kohli and the Indian cricket team during their three-week tour of the country.

The 30-year-old, who married India's captain in Italy in 2017, is one of the highestpaid actresses in India and has received a bunch of awards during her career, most notably the Filmfare Award.

She also works as a film producer for Hindi films. No surprising, then, that she drew plenty of attention upon arriving in New Zealand with Kohli.

With more than 23 million Instagram followers, and almost 19 million more on Twitter, Sharma has a massive social media presence.

The ambassador for Lavie, Nivea and Colgate has already started showing off the country to them, posting a photo of herself sitting on a park bench with the words: ‘‘No filters needed #NewZealand''.

New Delhi TV immediately picked up the post and published a story on their website, no doubt the first of many in the next few weeks.

Sharma flew to Australia last month to watch India beat the hosts in the Boxing Day test in Melbourne, a scalp which helped them record their first test series win across the ditch in 71 years.

Before arriving in New Zealand, the celebrity couple spent a day at the Australian Open, where they mingled with Swiss star Roger Federer.

India are in New Zealand for five one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches.
