Christmas parades: The Devon Hotel New Plymouth Brass marches in Christmas parades in Okato on Sunday at 6.30pm, in New Plymouth along Devon Street on Saturday, November 30 at 1pm, and the Waitara, Bell Block and Inglewood parades in December.

Spiegelfes­t Lunchtime Bites:

The Devon Hotel New Plymouth Brass is part of the festival with a concert tomorrow at 12.30pm. Another local group showcased in the festival is the Great Taranaki Steam Band who perform today at 12.30pm.

Carol singing: On Sunday, December 1 there will be a Christmas Carol Sing-along at the Knox Cafe, 17 Grey St, Waitara. On that same evening, the Taranaki Cathedral Choir will be singing in the Advent Carol Service at the Taranaki Interim

Cathedral at 5pm.

Jazz: The final Taranaki Jazz Club afternoon for the year will be held on December 1 with the River City Jazzmen from Christchur­ch attending.The closure of The Mayfair means the event will be at the New Plymouth Club, Gill St. Doors open at 3.45pm for a 4.30pm start. Entry: General $30, NP Club members $20, local and visiting jazz club members $15, students $5.

Music Innovation: Next month, the Music Innovation Trust of Taranaki launches a new series with a difference. Christophe­r Luke will play live lunchtime performanc­es on the Kibby Carillon on Marsland Hill. Luke will present 16 recitals throughout the summer with the first of these on Sunday, December 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 12pm.
