Womad NZ festival-goers can now plan how they will spend the three-day event following the release of the show schedule.

The festival, from March 13 to 15, will transform New Plymouth’s TSB Bowl of Brooklands into a space for music, arts and dance, with 29 performers and acts from across the globe.

There will be nine acts on the Friday afternoon, once Womad kicks off at 4.30pm, with highlights including performances by reggae icon Ziggy Marley and jazz, soul, funk fusion group Hiatus Kaiiyote.

Saturday is the biggest day for the festival with a total of 22 acts taking the stage, including Kiwi reggae, electronic, blues, rock, and funk supergroup L.A.B and British folk singer Laura Marling.

Salif Keita, the 70-year-old ambassador of African music who released his final album Un Autre Blanc in February, will perform one of his last shows ever on the Sunday, while the other 18 acts will take the stage for their second performances.

Some of the double acts include living legends of gospel The Blind Boys Of Alabama, harp-kora duo Catrin Finch & Sokou Keita and Kiwi artists Albi & the Wolves, Reb Fountain, Soaked Oats, and Troy Kingi.

The festival will finish at 11.45pm on March 15.
