Hearing adjourned for murder accused

-

A High Court hearing for the two men accused of the murder of a Taranaki father will now take place early next month. A case review hearing for Turanganui Ormsby-Turner, 26, and a 16-year-old male with interim name suppression was scheduled to take place yesterday, but was further adjourned to December 2. The pair previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder by stabbing, in relation to the August 3 death of New Plymouth father-of-two Rei Marshall. The 23-year-old died at Taranaki Base Hospital. The teen was previously granted electronic bail by the High Court, while Ormsby-Turner remains on custodial remand. A three-week trial in the case is set to begin on July 17 next year. Last month, a 25-year-old man, who has interim name suppression, pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact of Marshall’s death. He will be sentenced on December 2.
