Expect to see hundreds of American classic cars duringtara­naki’s massive Americarna event. Today features the famous trip from New Plymouth to Hāwera and back, stopping at Stratford for a park up along the way.

Returning to the city along Mangorei Rd from about 5pm, the Friday convoy is welcomed by hundreds of residents lining the street waving them on. Vehicles then proceed to the CBD where the streets are theirs alone for the Friday night cruise from 6pm.

Tomorrow, cars will park along New Plymouth’s Devon St for the main street car display of the event.

Tataraimak­a Hall turns 100, Tataraimak­a Hall, Saturday February 24, 11am

This is a BYO picnic that starts at 11am and there will be games throughout the day and the Beach v Bush challenge at 2pm.

Come along to the Tataraimak­a Hall either during the day or at night, where you can bring some kai to eat, catch up with people and have a dance to the music.
