Action-packed evening sees favourite emerge

Kumaras have put a stake in the sand and showed that they hold favouritism in the Taupo Darts Association’s M21 Meats trophy series, after taking down Tradesmen in last weeks clash.

Tradesmen, who were unbeaten for the season going into the match, shared the pairs wins, but could not fend off the power and accuracy of the Kumara team in the singles.

Neybors had to work hard to repel the intentions of 3Johnnysinn.

Although Neybors held the advantage after the pairs, and had an early roll- on in the singles. However, several losses against a determined 3Johnnys team kept them on their toes.

Turangi Riggers needed a win in the last game of the night to eke out a 11-9 victory against Te Whanau.

After leading at the conclusion of the pairs, Te Whanau dropped their guard to allow Tuarangi Riggers back into the match. With wins being swapped in the second part of the match, Turangi managed the win at the end.

Riggers had to fight from behind against an improving Hawks team.

Hawks, a team having it’s second outing, looked good winning the majority of the pairs, but Riggers, fearing a boilover taking place, stepped up to get back into the match in the first singles games.

Their 13-7 win flattered them and could easily have been a lot closer. Kumaras 13, Tradesmen 7. Neybors 13, 3Johnnysinn 7. Turangi Riggers 11, Te Whanau 9. Riggers 13, Hawks 7.
