Superb show
This is just a quick note of appreciation and a big thank you to the huge team of Taupo¯ Centre Stage involved in last week’s superb musical production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I for one was mesmerised by the extraordinary talents within our community.
It would be unfair to single out anyone in particular as all performers young and not so young were spectacular. It was truly an excellent team effort including the very talented mostly unseen musicians at the back of the stage, supporting stage team as well as the very friendly obliging staff of the Great Lake Centre. We often talk about punching above our weight and this labour of love for most if not all involved most certainly proved to be the case. So once again on behalf of my grandson, wife and myself many thanks for the memories and I look forward to your next production.

If the balance is not readily available then clearly the council administration building could be built at this stage. There is a possibility that the rest of the development would not proceed. A survey of our Taupo Residents Group members indicated that the majority opposed the inclusion of the council administration building in this Tongariro Domain Precinct. Further, a council-sponsored meeting recently demonstrated on a show of the audiences’ hands that they were similarly opposed to the inclusion of the building in the precinct. Taupo¯ Residents Group believes that council is pushing ahead with a costly ($400,000) feasibility study without having adequately tested the community’s support for the project.
We had hoped that council would use their resources for a survey of the community to demonstrate if there was support for the project but it has declined to do so. Taupo¯ Residents Group has set up a simple survey to test the community’s support for or against the inclusion of the council building within the precinct.
