MARKING

At 11am on Sunday November 11, Aotearoa New Zealand will mark the centenary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.

The centenary will be marked at the Taupo¯ Cenotaph on Tongariro St from 10.45am, with the Last Post at 11am and speeches. From 2pm to 3pm, Taupo¯ Museum, in association with The Live Poets, there’s a 100-year Armistice Day commemoration with live poetry readings in the museum’s Ora Garden.
