Monday Walkers

After the wet and wild weekend weather it was a relief to set off for our walk at Poronui Station east of Taupo¯ in calm weather.

Our walk was along the “poled route” through mainly flat open pasture land, scrub land and along a gravel road. We caught a glimpse of the impressive John Blair-designed luxurious Blake House sitting on a promontory on the opposite side of the Taharua River. We carried on past large stands of larch trees.
