Public helped with arrests

-

Police are thanking the public for their help after a robbery last weekend.

They have arrested two people in connection with the aggravated robbery of the Hilltop Food Market at about 3.30pm last Sunday, where two young people assaulted a staff member and stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

Several members of the public saw them and directed police, who quickly caught the pair as they attempted to flee through properties in the Henry Hill Rd area.

Two people will appear in Youth Court facing aggravated robbery charges.

Police are working with the owners of the superette who are uninjured. They have recovered some of the cigarettes taken but are asking residents to contact them if they find any items that may have been dropped. In particular, police would like to speak to a woman who shopped at the superette shortly before the incident.
