Prizes to junior players

Tu¯rangi Wanderers soccer club held its prize giving for two junior teams, Grade 10 Tu¯rangi Hurricanes coached by Mark Allen and Grade 8 Tu¯rangi Tigers coached by Peter Mansell.

Trophies, medals and certificat­es went to the players aged eight to 11 from Tongariro School, Te Kura o¯ Hirangi and Kuratau School who helped teams to another successful soccer season in the Taupo¯ league and the Taumarunui One Day competitio­n.

Makaio Allen was Hurricanes Player of the Year, Morgan Foxall was Hurricanes Most Improved Player, Kate Teinaki Wanderers’ Best Defender, Kadan Cockburn Wanderers’ Best Attacker, Nevaeh Timihou was Tigers Player of the Year and Rawiri Allen Tigers Most Improved Player.

Jasmin McManus was Hurricanes Most Valuable Player, Michelle Hendry Most Improved Player, Melissa Puhi Players’ Player, Conall McManus Tigers Most Valuable Player, Reka Teinaki Most Improved Player and Te Hoka Wanikau Players’ Player.

Tu¯rangi Wanderers congratula­te award winners and thank coaches, parents and supporters for another successful year.
