Wednesday Walkers

-

The group assembled next to the Scout and Cub Den last week, planning to hike through the gullys heading uphill. Instead, overnight rain and more forecast for the morning dictated a hard surface hike would be wiser so we turned instead along the Great Lake Walkway. Although many umbrellas were carried, the weather remained dry. After leaving the walkway the group made several passages along walkways looping away from the lake edge on the walk to and around Secombe Park. The cyclists faced on the Great Lake Walkway produced a mixed reaction to a large group, with several proceeding steadfastly ahead ignoring the signage that clearly states cyclists should give way to walkers. A comparatively youthful 32-year-old woman along for the day established the record for the youngest ever to grace this group. The group will take a break from December 19 to January 16.
