Rodeo returning to Taupo¯

-

Grab your cowboy hats and boots as the annual Taupo¯ Rodeo returns on Friday December 29.

Local and visiting cowboys and cowgirls will be displaying skilled horsemanship in bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bronc and bareback riding. Gates open at 9am and the main competitive performances and races start after lunch.

Bring a picnic (no glass allowed) or choose from the many vendors on site selling hot and cold food, drinks and ice creams.

A large hill alongside the rodeo arena allows for easy viewing of all the events and a bouncy castle and face painting will keep the kids occupied when they’re not watching the competitions. Spot prizes will also be given out during the day.

Gate prices are: Families (2x2) $30, adults $15, children 5-12 years $5, under-fives free, and eftpos will be available. The rodeo takes place on Broadlands Rd at the intersection with Centennial Drive. Visit the Taupo¯ Rodeo Club Facebook page for further information.
