Taupo¯ acknowledges volunteers
Twenty-nine volunteers from a variety of local organisations attended a Taupo¯ Volunteers Week Celebration last Monday morning.
Several of those at the breakfast volunteer with more than one organisation, and some have volunteered for more than 20 years. Each volunteer had the opportunity to introduce themselves and the organisation they represented and talk about the thing they most enjoyed about volunteering.
The breakfast was hosted by Taupo¯ MP Louise Upston, who said she was delighted to have the opportunity to acknowledge the volunteers’ hard work.
“Volunteers are the backbone of the community and we are so lucky in Taupo¯ to have a huge number of people who give time tirelessly to ensure that organisations are out there assisting in our community.”
This year’s theme for National Volunteers Week is Recognise, Connect, Reimagine.
